The Question
What do you carry with you from those you’ve lost?
The Intention
Remember
The Meditative Moment
In a recent phone call with my mom she mentioned someone who told her about a memory she had of my uncle from when they were teenagers. This uncle died almost forty years ago, and this woman still has memories of being with him and how he made her feel. My mom lamented the loss of her brother, his good energy, his kindness. And all of that is certainly lost, but not exactly gone. We remember. In this remembering, we carry. It is brutal, bittersweet, and comforting all at once. What are you carrying? And in what way does it honor, memorialize, and continue the lives of those you’ve loved?
