The Question
Do you find it easy or difficult to be compassionate toward yourself?
The Intention
Patience
The Meditative Moment
When others need compassion, we rarely hesitate. A donation? A kind word? A hug? Shared tears? Done, done, done, and done. And yet, when we need compassion, we struggle to ask for it, let alone give it to ourselves. Notice when you’re demanding more of yourself than you’d demand of someone else today. Holding ourselves accountable is one thing. Beating ourselves up for needing tenderness is another. When you notice yourself doing the latter, take those hands to your heart and take some deep breaths. Slow it down. You are worthy of gentleness.
