Thin Space No. 8: Play, Anxiety, and Creativity

The Question

What does the idea of play conjure up for you. How often do you play?

The Intention

The Meditative Moment

Play releases ourselves from the pressure of perfection. Is there something you’re taking too seriously today? Something you’re worried about? Step back and think of how you can play with the situation. Maybe even take a five-minute break for a dance party, do jumping jacks, dig out a coloring book and color, play a random game of tag with your significant other or kids, hop over to a local park and swing. Notice if stepping out of the norm gives you a new perspective on the situation or anxieties. Or maybe it just refreshes you so you can handle what’s on your plate.
