Does your anxiety or grief have a rhythm? What happens if you go with the rhythm rather than against it?
The Meditative Moment
Close your eyes or soften your gaze. Imagine a body of water: lake, ocean, river. Try to choose one that is soothing, calm, gentle. You can either be in the water, swimming; on it, floating; or gazing from the shore. Notice your breath moving with the rhythm of this body of water. As waves come in and out, as a river meanders through a forest, as currents come and go—your breath moves in and out of your body, refreshing and renewing it.
